Terms of Service

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of DealSim, including the website at dealsim.us and the DealSim app (together, the "Service"), operated by DealSim ("DealSim", "we", "us"). By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you don't agree, don't use the Service.

1. The Service

DealSim is an educational product for learning investment banking concepts, including interactive lessons, practice questions, financial modeling exercises and simulated deal scenarios. Some features use artificial intelligence to generate content and feedback.

The Service is for education only. It is not financial, investment, legal, tax or career advice, and completing it doesn't guarantee any job offer, interview or other outcome. All companies, people, transactions and figures in the simulations are fictional. DealSim is not affiliated with any bank or financial institution.

2. Accounts

• You must be at least 18 years old and give accurate information when you sign up.
• Each account is for one person. You may not share your login or resell access. An account may be signed in on a limited number of devices at once, and signing in on a new device may sign out another.
• You're responsible for keeping your password secure and for activity on your account. Tell us promptly at [email protected] if you suspect unauthorized use.

3. Subscriptions and payment

• Paid plans are billed in advance on a recurring monthly basis until you cancel. Payments are processed by Stripe, which may act as the seller of record for your purchase and calculate and collect applicable sales tax or VAT. Stripe's own terms also apply to your payment.
• You can upgrade, downgrade or cancel at any time from your account page. Upgrades take effect immediately and are prorated. When you cancel, you keep access until the end of the current billing period, and you won't be charged again.
• Refunds: you can get a full refund of any payment, including a subscription renewal or an AI Boost, within 7 days of being charged. Email [email protected] from your account's email address. After 7 days, payments are non-refundable except where required by law. If we refund a subscription payment, the subscription is cancelled; if we refund an AI Boost, its remaining credit is removed.
• AI Boosts are optional one-time purchases that add extra AI usage on top of your plan's monthly allowance. Boost credit is used only after your monthly allowance runs out, doesn't expire while your account is open, has no cash value, and can't be transferred.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days' notice; changes apply from your next billing period after the notice.
• Plans that include AI features come with a monthly usage allowance designed for normal individual study. We may limit or pause AI features for usage that is automated, abusive, or far beyond normal study.
• Free, trial or complimentary access (for example, for beta testers) can be changed or ended at any time.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to: copy, scrape, redistribute or resell the Service's content; attempt to access other users' data or our systems without permission; interfere with or overload the Service; use the AI features to generate unlawful or harmful content; or use the Service in violation of any law.

5. AI-generated content

AI feedback, characters and generated lessons can be inaccurate or incomplete. Use your own judgment and don't rely on AI output as professional advice. Content you submit to AI features is processed by our AI provider to generate responses, as described in our Privacy Policy.

6. Intellectual property

The Service, including its lessons, questions, model answers, software, logo and design, is owned by DealSim or its licensors and protected by intellectual property laws. We give you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use it for your own learning while your account is active. You keep ownership of the work you create in the Service (your answers, models and drafts) and give us the rights needed to store and process it to run the Service.

7. Termination

You can delete your account at any time from your account page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that break these Terms. If we terminate your account without cause, we'll refund the unused portion of any prepaid period.

8. Disclaimers and limitation of liability

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent permitted by law. To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim related to the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, and we aren't liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for lost profits or opportunities.

9. Changes

We may update these Terms. If a change is material, we'll notify you by email or in the Service at least 14 days before it takes effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.

10. Governing law and contact

These Terms are governed by the laws of the United States and the state in which DealSim is based, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Questions about these Terms or your account? Email [email protected].
